The Silos, 178 Project, Hey Fever

  • Mama Tried 787 3rd Avenue Brooklyn NY 11232 United States (map)

+One Seven Eight Product- performs an unprepared music precisely in the moment for those in attendance. The project evolved out of the basement studio at 178 Ludlow Street LES where Liquid Liquid alum Sal P. held things together for 27 short years.  Their sound is sometimes described as bongo kraut rock with disco punk overtones it's focused yet playful unexpected & at times exhilarating truly music of for & by the times

+The Silos- began as a musical force in 1985 with the release of their first album “About Her Steps” along with a series of gigs in their hometown neighborhood, the East Village of New York City. They were part of New York’s post-punk ‘80s scene and played Indie Rock, Alt-Rock, Alt-Country, and Americana before any critics coined those terms. Heralded at their outset by Rolling Stone as "America's Best New Band," the resilient Silos mix punk, roots, rock, and sage art-damaged truth telling.

+Hey Fever- crawled out of some NYC basement in 2024 like it owed the city money, and it hasn’t stopped snarling since. This crew smashes punk’s snarl into indie rock’s hooks and alt-rock’s whatever-the-hell-we-want attitude, then plays it loud enough that you stop asking questions. Live, they’re a controlled disaster — the kind of unpredictable that makes you want to stand closer to the speakers, not farther away.
